The Melbourne based J111s have won four of the last five IRC races at Sandringham Yacht Club proving their ability in the competitive IRC circuit.
Stuart Lyon in ‘Jake’ blitzed the field in an eight leg windward leeward race increasing his lead at every mark.
Rod Warrens ‘Joust’ won three of the four races held to decide the Port Philip and Commodore in Chiefs trophies, in lovely, warm conditions. Competitors included the highly competitive and well rated Beneteau 40s, 45s and 47.7, Melges 32, Reichel Pugh 36. For one-design or IRC, the J 111 is a great boat.
